Hello, I'm Olivia
I am a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Toronto, Canada.
A few years back I moved here with my family, and what began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Canada wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something much larger.
The first few months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Daily tasks felt more complex than they should.
The Adjustment Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning on the fly. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt steady.
Why I Created Current Cliff Leaf
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site aims to close that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Practical insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored-review platform
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada goes on, and the learning journey continues as well. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Olivia
